'Aphrodite’ is a triploid cultivar developed by the National Arboretum in the 1970s and released to commerce in 1988. It is more compact than the species, typically growing 6-8’ (less frequently to 10’) tall. It features ruffled, thick-petaled, clear pink single flowers (to 4” diameter) with a dark red eye. This cultivar produces little to no seed.
