Native Plants

Species Natives

These are straight native species, meaning plants sold as the natural species rather than a named cultivar. All plants in this collection are U.S. natives, but not every species is native to the Ozarks specifically. These are a great choice for gardeners focused on natural habitat value.

Native Cultivars

Native cultivars, often called nativars, are cultivated selections of native plants. Some are chosen from outstanding wild plants and others are bred for traits like flower color, height, or bloom time. Depending on the selection, they can range from very close to the wild plant to noticeably different in form or function.
