Viola sororia 'Freckles' has white blooms speckled with violet that rise above heart shaped leaves in spring. A variant of our common violet, it is perfect for petite bouquets. It leaves and flowers are both edible. Viola 'Freckles' is super cute, but it readily self-sows, so be careful where you plant it! It will throw seeds into lawns, crevices and any free spot of soil. It is a good ground cover where spreading is not an issue.
