Salix matsudana—most commonly called Corkscrew Willow, and Twisted Willow—is best known for its spiraling branches and extremely fast growth. Growing as fast as two feet a year, you can practically watch it grow.
In addition to its branches twisting and spiraling, its brightly colored leaves are twisted and spiraled, too. Leaves turn attractive shades of yellow in the fall.
Birds seem to love this tree as much as people, as its unique growth provides ample areas for perching and nesting.
Trimmed branches are perfect for crafts and arrangements.
Its curly branches provide four-season interest, and look amazing in the winter when there are no leaves on them.
Deer tolerant, salt tolerant, and disease resistant.
