Vigorously growing shrub with bright yellow branches and stems that are especially noticeable in winter. Tiny white flowers appear in clusters in spring giving way to white berries. Although favored by birds, the berries are mildly toxic to humans and may cause stomach aches. Tolerant of a wide range of conditions but prefers medium to moist soils.
Pruning may be required to maintain the plant's shape and stem color. The brightest display of stem color is found on the young stems.
