Girard's Karen' is an evergreen azalea (Girard hybrid from Girard Nurseries in Geneva, Ohio) that features a showy shrub-covering mid-season to late-season (May) bloom of funnel-shaped, lavender-pink flowers (each to 2 1/2" across) in clusters. This upright-spreading shrub typically matures over time in a rounded compact form to 3-3.5' tall and to 4-5' wide. Small, glossy, dark green leaves are semi-evergreen to evergreen. Leaves acquire orange-red to burgundy tones in fall.
