It was first discovered by Ben Frost of Durham, Arkansas (Washington County) who discovered the King David apple along a fence row in the late 1800's. King David apple tree is a versatile fruit for cider, pies, sauce, and eating. Its admirers boast that it is the most wonderful eating apple in the world. It is a medium size deep dark red apple. It has firm, crisp, spicy, juicy yellow flesh. The King David apple tree is thought to be a cross between Jonathan and Arkansas Black, this solid red late-season apple hangs late on the tree and should be picked when full color develops. King David apple trees are said to be resistant to scab, cedar apple rust and fireblight.

Important Notice: Bare Root Fruit Tree Pickup
This is a bare root fruit tree. Trees will be 3/4– 1 1/4” caliper and pruned to 4’ in height. We expect these trees to arrive in late November or early December. Once they arrive, you will be promptly notified.
Please note: It is essential to pick up your tree within one week of arrival. We cannot hold bare root trees beyond this timeframe.
If you are unable to pick up your tree within this period, please notify us in advance.
