The Joan of Arc crocus, or Crocus vernus 'Jeanne d'Arc', is a large, pure white, large-flowering crocus that blooms in early spring, a time when many consider it a symbol of bravery. These deer-resistant, bee-friendly flowers have six petals, a hint of purple at their base, and bright orange pistils, standing 4-6 inches tall. They are easy to grow and naturalize, making them suitable for lawns, borders, rock gardens, and containers in well-drained soil, full sun to partial shade, and zones 3-9.
